Epinions Xl-7 is Excellent!

by  opel73,  Jan 19, 2003
Pros: Good visibility, Plenty of power, roomy
Cons: Third row seating is strictly kids only.
The Bottom Line: If you think you want an explorer or blazer, drive this first. It's a first rate car.
Review: We purchased our XL-7 in 2001, and have been very satisfied with it. Problems have been minimal, and our local dealer has really taken care of us. The features of this car that are really great are the powertrain- the 175 horsepower engine speaks with ...

Epinions The right sized SUV

by  DesignSmith,  Aug 9, 2001
Pros: Larger V6, good interior capacity and still getting 20-25 MPG
Cons: so new some after market accessories are not available yet
The Bottom Line: Dads, this both what you want and need. It has truck toughness and horsepower to spare, passenger capacity, more stylish than a minivan, and is still reasonably priced.
Review: This is our 3rd Suzuki, but our first new brand new one. When I went for the original test drive there were just 10 miles on the odometer. Although I carefully considered offerings from Mazda, Toyota, Hyundai, Kia, Chevy and Mercury; the Suzuki still...

Epinions XL7 = Excellent Value

by  bourbonrebel,  Nov 21, 2001
Pros: Plenty of Space, Japanese Quality
Cons: No cargo space with 7 passengers on board.
The Bottom Line: Suzuki have come up with a nice all-round SUV that feels tough and reliable.
Review: I have been driving my Suzuki XL7 for 6 weeks now, and I must say I am very impressed with it. For the money this is one heck of a Car with rear air conditioning, 16-inch aluminum wheels, and an AM/FM stereo system that includes an in-dash CD player....

Epinions X-tra special

by  mr_yagr,  Oct 18, 2001
Pros: A sleek and versatile model
Cons: Like any other SUV, mileage and price
The Bottom Line: Consider this vehicle since the larger automobile dealers cannot compete with the option and price that the XL7 has.
Review: Having purchased a Grand Vitara last year I was both impressed with Suzuki as a dealer/servicer and the truck itself in regards to its handling and make. Even though the Grand Vitara is and was bigger than most other models in its class, I was still a...

Epinions 4 Wheel Drive for a Family

by  redbaron10,  Aug 4, 2001
Pros: Plenty of seating , good quality
Cons: 4WD selected manually below 60 MPH (could be a PRO for some)
The Bottom Line: For family looking for the safety and versatility of 4 Wheel Drive this car fits the bill nicely.
Review: XL-7 stands for either ‘Extra Long 7 seat Vitara’, or ‘Excellent 7 seater’, depending on your country of purchase. I bought my XL-7 down here in Australia 2 weeks ago, and even in that short a time I have grown to love its quality build and spacious...

Epinions 2002 Suzuki XL7 Limited

by  flyingn,  Aug 29, 2002
Pros: not too big, not too small 7 passinger Japanese quality great value beautiful looking suv
Cons: not many dealers to get service at.
The Bottom Line: If you are looking for an SUV that can haul people and things in comfort and at the same time not being too big to manuvear, its for you..
Review: This is a Limited version. Leather seating, rear AC, heated seats and outside mirrors. We have searched for the 'right' suv for almost a year and got this one. It carries up to 7 people and is not too big. We live in the city so 99% of our driving will...

Epinions Quite satisfied after 4 1/2 years

by  midmoelmarko,  Mar 30, 2005
Pros: Got Explorer features & zip for much less $$$
Cons: Few, loses "solid sound" fairly soon, trouble with lightweight & high-profile.
Review: Vehicle has all we could have asked at about $10K less than Explorer or Cherokee. Handles well, 4WD has worked very well during snow-driving in MI and MO. A little lite and will hydroplane quickly in ANY standing water. V6 has nice pick-up, we bought ...

Epinions A Real Family Car

by  ChefMamaT,  Aug 5, 2001
Pros: Roomy for a family, rugged but car-like, comfortably sized
Cons: Seating is narrow, V6 isn't as powerful as you'd think on hills
The Bottom Line: If you're looking for a family vehicle that the family can actually afford, get this one.
Review: When we were expecting our first child we never even gave a thought to the seating in the car. At the time I was driving a 1988 Dodge Shadow and we found the back seat to be a lot less than what we needed with a rear facing car seat. We looked into...

Epinions Fun to drive ...

by  ttocsmij,  Dec 27, 2003
Pros: turning radius, handling, performance, quiet
Cons: Cibie fog lamps, cruise control, foot room (rear), original A/C compressor life
The Bottom Line: For young or mature couple with less than three [grand]children who don't car-pool, an unqualified yes. Soccer moms and car-poolers will need more space. We love it!
Review: Our first SUV/4WD. Fun to drive ... and park with the really short turning radius and short nose. A little narrower than some (at least feels that way) which has made the XL-7 an absolute joy to navigate the highways and byways of rural upstate New York. ...

Epinions Great Little SUV For The Money

by  craigtaz1,  Oct 9, 2001
Pros: Looks, Handling, Price
Cons: Interior Quality
The Bottom Line: Nice little SUV with big room, yet light enough to tow behind any motorhome.
Review: I began shopping for a small SUV that I could tow behind my motorhome. For obvious reasons I needed something fairly light. I initially began looking at the Toyota Rav4, but quickly learned that it could not be towed with all four wheels down, without...
