by  capthook,  Oct 3, 2005
Pros: Quality,Ride Hieght,4x4,Comfort Level ,Sound System, Seats
Cons: Gas Mileage Repair Costs Constant Maintance
The Bottom Line: Bottom line is, don't buy one of these to not get it dirty.
Review: Ok, so she eats gas - but, is it still worth my consideration? YES. I love my Disco II, it's one of the best 4x4's that was in production, it's proven, it's tough, it's agile for it's size, but it's not for everyone. This truck drinks fuel @ about 14mpg ...

Review: I bought this Land Rover Discovery series 2 new in 2001. It is the single best purchase I have ever made. The sales people at Land Rover are so nice and not pushy at all, it was the first time I bought a vehicle and I felt comfortable. I think they made a ...

Epinions Still the best 4 X 4 X FAR. The Queens Choice 4WD.

by  elegance,  Jul 2, 2001
Pros: *Superb, practical design with excellent seven seat option. *Impressive off-road capabilities
Cons: * Land Rover have again disappointed with the finishing touches.
The Bottom Line: ITS AFTER ALL A LAND-ROVER, A COMPANY THAT HAS BEEN AROUND FOR OVER A CENTENARY.
Review: Land Rover have again won over many hearts with the release of an upgraded 2001 model Land Rover Discovery. With an entirely different V8 engine to the existing 2000 model Series II and numerous interior and exterior changes, the 2001 model is the...

Epinions You must drive this off-road to really appreciate it.

by  croakus,  Aug 23, 2002
Pros: Fantastic off-road capabilities, comfort, visibility, torque, handling
Cons: Gas mileage, computer quirks
The Bottom Line: It goes anywhere off-road and still handles like a luxury car on the highway.
Review: After driving Jeep Cherokee's for over two years I realized it was time to make a change. I have damaged my back and the poor suspension combined with the small seats made it a very uncomfortable vehicle. I started looking at Land Rover on the...

Epinions From A Farmer's Vehicle To The Current Hip Owner

by  charles,  Feb 11, 2001
Pros: Built with a purpose and appealing everywhere
Cons: Appears too heavy; gas guzzler
The Bottom Line: If you usually go treasure hunting in Robb Report, you will know that it endorses the Land Rover as the best value for your money.
Review: Young and powerful, rich and protected by his henchmen, he was picked by his father to succeed him. He then became one of the major dictators of Latin American. Papa Doc anointed Baby Doc as the leader of one of the poorest countries in the Western...

Epinions Rugged baby, yeah...

by  soccergrrl,  Sep 13, 2002
Pros: Made to off-road, lots of cargo space, great view for the driver, high snob-factor
Cons: bouncy, drinks gas, rattles
The Bottom Line: If you aren't going to go off-roading, or tow stuff, you might want to consider something else. But if you love it, go for it! (and cross your fingers...)
Review: I bought my Disco slightly used...it had 12K miles on it. So far I've put about 10,000 miles on it myself. It's been fun as heck to drive, though I must admit the most treacherous driving it's ever seen has been the mall parking lot at Christmastime....

by  pchun4889,  Jul 13, 2006
Pros: Great Driving, looks, powerful,off-road.
Cons: GAS, too many little problems, engine problems, loud, VERY expensive repairs.
The Bottom Line: Great car, but too many problems...at least for me.
Review: As I was turning 16, my parents allowed me to pick a reasonable car for me to drive. I was into the "smaller SUV'S" such as the toyota 4 runner, nissan's pathfinder, and of course the land rover discovery. After a visit to the Land Rover dealer, I just ...

Epinions I love(d) this SUV

by  tomlyn,  Nov 1, 2004
Pros: That classy British Styling
Cons: Gas mileage.. Inconvenient buttons and controls
The Bottom Line: Good for people who need a rugged SUV with great styling. Bad for people (short women) who only drive at high speeds on Interstates with a carload of dogs.
Review: I really wanted a Land Rover Discovery II. I bugged my husband for one for weeks on end. Because he loves me, he finally gave in (against his better judgment). He hates the whole car-buying process, so it is always up to me to make the arrangements to go ...

Epinions Land Rover Discovery: Beauty Is Only Skin-Deep

by  jcare,  Mar 15, 2001
Pros: Rugged, off-road SUV. Classy Exterior
Cons: Underpowered engine. Quirky rear seats. Noisy.
The Bottom Line: Excellent on the outside, underpowered and poor ergonomics on the inside. Look elsewhere for an SUV.
Review: Many years ago, back in England, I learnt to drive in a Land Rover. It was a long wheelbase Defender vehicle with wooden seats in the back. If you so much as looked at it the wrong way some sharp edge on the inside would scratch you. I loved that car –...
