by  epinionatedpf,  Dec 17, 2007
Pros: Comfortable, fast, quiet, well spec'd, safe.
Cons: Servicing is expensive
The Bottom Line: I wopuld recommend this car to those considering mercs and beemers because it is clearly the better drive
Review: This car is testimony to Toyota's superior engineering abilty and expertise. In the mid eightys Toyota decided they needed a new vehicle to tackle the likes of the BMW 7 series and the Mercedes S Class. If these companies can build a luxury car, surely ...

Pros: Everything
Cons: None
Review: I purchased a Used White Lexus LS 400 at an auction 5 years ago.
It is the best car I have ever owned. (My previous car was
Audio 4000) It is so comfortable and easy to drive. It
holds the road very well even at high speeds. So far I...

Epinions You've got to drive a Lexus

by  ExcitingName,  Mar 28, 2001
Pros: NICE car, low price
Cons: none
The Bottom Line: New or Used, a LEXUS is the way to go.
Review: My 1991 LS400 is a great car. Some magazine described the extremely quiet cabin as an "Isolation booth on wheels" This is very accurate, as hardly any outside noise penetrates this solid made car. Inside it has everything you could want. Put the...

Epinions Like a Brooks Brothers suit--lasts long, looks good

by  mdahlgren,  Jan 26, 2002
Pros: Solid construction, good gas mileage, strong engine, luxury feel
Cons: Pricey parts and service, hard seats
The Bottom Line: A lot of car for the money with few problems. But costly in parts. Seems to go forever as long as you do your regular maintenance.
Review: I've enjoyed this car for about 30,000 miles. As it was an "heirloom" from my grandfather, I don't have a purchasing price. I do know that I've had nearly trouble-free service from this stylish Toyota product.

Being a motor-head, I enjoy the...

Epinions The standard for reliable luxury

by  jrcomp1,  Jun 11, 2001
Pros: Proven reliability, quiet interior, awesome stereo, ergonomic interior design
Cons: Somewhat poor gas milage, service and parts expenses
The Bottom Line: The LS 400 is a logical car to purchase. Though the car has not been trouble free as it ages, it has proven to be of the highest quality
Review: We have owned our 1991 LS 400 since the fall of 1992. The car had 6000 miles when purchased, though it currently has 135,000 miles on the odometer. The car still drives as well as it did when new, though the interior and exterior show the type of wear...

Epinions Excellent car

by  matdak,  May 20, 2002
Pros: Comfort and class
Cons: Parts and labor are expensive
The Bottom Line: Excellent automobile for the money
Review: When I first test drove the LS 400, I loved it. I have had to replace the A/C which was expensive, but since I bought the car with 119,000 miles, and now have 152,000 on the car, I would expect to put some $ into it. Lately the CD changer in the truck...

Epinions 1991 Lexus LS 400

by  arnco123,  Oct 24, 2007
Pros: Instrument lights are very easy to read. Handles and drives well. Ample power.
Cons: Not a luxury looking car. My 1989 Cadillac and 1992 Lincoln Town Car more luxurious.
Review: I purchased my 1991 Lexus LS 400 in September of 2007. The car had 205,000 miles on the body and a transplanted used 80,000 mile motor. I bought the car from my son-in-law for $3,500. Even though the model is now 17 years old it drives and handles ...
