Pros: Carry a single device, have a single address book. Ease of use.
Cons: GSM-only, inconsistent voice quality, earphone quality.
The Bottom Line: Buy one. This device really makes life easier.
Review: I have been using the Handspring VisorPhone exclusively as my mobile (and home) phone for months. I am very happy with it.
The up-side: I had been using a very nice phone (Nokia 8860), and found the VisorPhone does everything it... |

Pros: worldwide use, easy to use, nice messaging, integrates well
Cons: audio only average, no pass-thru
The Bottom Line: Pretty good, and much cheaper and more versatile than Nokia 9000/Ericsson380.
Look for heavy discounting. I love it!
Review: I love it! It's cool, and it works!
The technical data is all available at www.handpring.com, so I won't touch on it too much. I'm going to talk about what it's like to USE the phone in practise, concentrating on UK, I have a Visor Platinum,... |

Pros: Phone works in Europe & US, call quality, only need to carry one box
Cons: Voicestream, accidental dialing, bulky if you compare to a phone, fragile headset mechanics
The Bottom Line: Brilliant, best all-round unit out there, but about to be replaced by the Treo, so don't bother buying one - unless you really can't wait.
Review: I bought a Handspring Prism and Visor Phone about 9 months ago, principally so that I only needed to carry around one small electrical item rather than 2, even if it was a bit bulkier then either of the individual options. What really attracted me...

Pros: Cool, integrates nicely with PDA
Cons: Too expensive
Review: This product is a natural extension of the whole PDA concept - simplify, simplify, simplify. After chucking my Franklin day planner and a stack of business cards, now I can toss the ugly cellular phone as well. I've had my Visorphone for just a couple...

Pros: Cheapest (GSM) World (900/1900) phone
Cons: No GPRS support
The Bottom Line: GSM World phone, (now) great price. The best PDA smart phone combo today.
Review: Handspring set a new very nice price for the VisorPhone:
$49 with GSM service activation. VisorPhone combined with a Handspring Prism is the best PDA (smart) phone today. It's a GSM World phone. A couple of areas in the US do... |

Pros: Works in USA, Canada and Europe
Cons: GSM network in North America is small
The Bottom Line: For anyone who travels in Europe, this is a great solution.
Review: Hi,
Just came back from Europe. This thing works like a charm over there. Bought a "pay as you go" card at the airport in Helsinki and was immediately connected. Same in UK. Even though Fido (Canadian GSM provider) does not guarantee that this...

Pros: Saves you from needing to carry a separate phone.
Cons: Pricey, not as good as a good stand alone cell phone.
Review: The store I deal with was advanced only one trial VisorPhone in advance of their anticipated order. Handspring is currently selling these directly through their web site and will, based on what I saw, have them in most dealers hands in time for the...

Pros: Best phone/PDA/modem combo out there, right now.
Cons: Sound quality, position of ear piece.
The Bottom Line: If you are a gadget freak like me, with a little extra cash, this maybe the phone for you. Eliminate having to carry a pager, phone, PDA, modem..with the VisorPhone.
Review: Instead of carrying my Sprint cell phone with me and my Prism, I opted to go ahead and buy the VisorPhone. This way, I don't have to keep up with both, just one. You do add a bit of weight to your Prism by adding this springboard module, but its worth it...

Pros: Works with any US GSM service, great texting, great utility with the handheld
Cons: Harder to find now that they are obsolete
The Bottom Line: If you don't mind a larger unit, and you like reusing older technology, the GSM model is a real winner. If you must have the best, don't bother.
Review: There is nothing like paying $20 - $30 for a product that in its prime cost hundreds. Well, as long as it still does the job, it's a bargain. At the end of the day, after all the specifications have been sifted through, are you still using the thing or ...

Pros: Fun, handy, and a great accessory for the Handspring VisorPhone!
Cons: Can be costly, quality of voice is not as good as can be.
