2004 Nissan Pathfinder

The truck-based Pathfinder is Nissans oldest SUV. It offers SE and uplevel LE models, both with a 240-hp V6, automatic transmission, and a choice of rear-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive. SEs 4WD must be disengaged on dry pavement. The LE has Nissans All-Mode 4WD, which can be left engaged on dry pavement. Both systems include low-range gearing. ABS is standard. Pathfinder seats five and does not offer 3rd-row seating. Standard on LE and optional on SE are front side airbags and head-protecting curtain side airbags that cover both seating rows. LE models come with leather upholstery, and, for 2004, include Platinum Edition trim, which adds electroluminescent gauges, aluminum kick plates, woodgrain interior accents, and available platinum-colored paint. An antiskid/traction-control system is available for both models as part of a package that also includes a tire-pressure monitor. Rear DVD entertainment is available, but a navigation system is not.
