Better than my local GAP store

I've bought two pairs of jeans on two different occasions from their online store only because my local GAP didn't carry the size I needed. So far the experience has been positive. Placing the actual order was very simple. I've not had any hang ups nor did I need to contact their customer service department for help.
I like the fact I can log on to my account and track my orders. Delivery always arrived on time, just like it states on the order summary. Browsing the items on their website is easy and they provide multiple views as well as a "zoom" view when you roll over the item. The jeans I ordered looked exactly like it did on the site and have met my expectations. Overall a great experience and I will definitely shop here again in the very near future. |

I didnt get all I wanted for Christmas- I wanted some clothes. But, Im glad no one bought me any- because Im rather picky, and hard to fit- a 0 petite in the pants to be exact. So, I usually have to go online to find a 0 and a petite. No big deal.

I visited my local Gap store only to find that a clearance item that I wanted was not in stock. That led me to visit gap.com. Unfortunately I discovered that the clearance items listed on the website did not even include the one from the store and the items that were on clearance in the store were much cheaper in the store than online. Luckily I was able to find some shirts and jeans that were very affordable and fashionable. I ordered these items and was shocked to find them on my doorstep two days later! I had not opted for any sort of special shipping, but here it was, only two days later and I already had my order. Ihave to give credit for the speed of delivery. The website layout is very user friendly and it was very easy to complete my transaction.

Their website is really easy to look around and there are always good deals to be found at Gap. They ship pretty quickly and I have never had a problem with any of my orders so far. I love the quality of their clothes and love the prices. Their sale items seem to always get cheaper and cheaper which is great if you find a basic that you want to buy more than one of.

I have been ordering from gap.com for a few years now.My kids are 16 through 2 years old so as you can imagine I buy a lot of clothes. And most of which I buy from gap.com. You can get great outfits that really look good and last a good long time.

As for as on-line clothes shopping goes there is nothing negative that I can say about GAP. The best part is that you can return it at the store, in case the items look better on-line than they actually are.

I found a sweater on sale at gap.com. Yesterday, I had seen it in the store for $15 more, so I called the store to see if it had gone on sale. If it had, I would have bought it in the store to save on shipping. The store placed me on hold for over 5 minutes and after finishing my call 10 minutes later, I went back to the website to complete my transaction since it was still regular price in the store. The sweater had been taken out of my shopping cart and given to someone else!
If this is how gap.com treats their customers, I no longer want any part of their company. As a consumer, there are a multitude of other places to shop. |

I ordered a petite size from their online store. When it arrived it was the exact same size as the regular jeans in the regular store. When they asked me why I returned it the customer service people yelled at me telling me (via E-mail) that I had no idea how things were supposed to fit. (I guess with The Gap the customer is always wrong.)
Plus, it will take four to six weeks for them to process the refund. |

Bought some shirts and skirts on-line for my sister. I knew that some of them she wouldn't like, so I'd have to return them. The order was processed fast and I also received a confirmation letter. I got my order couple days later, the day it was supposed to come. It was easy to track it down on-line. The shirts that my sister didn't like, she returned to a local store without any problems.

Gap.com really utilizes the best features of the internet for the customers benefit. The bets feature on their site is the shop by size which shows you what they have in your size rather than spending extra time seeing if it's available.
Both times I've ordered the shipments have arrived pretty quick. The one draw back is their packaging which is basically a sealable bag. So far I haven't seen any problems with anything I've bought but it doesn't seem that safe from mishaps. |

I missed the free shipping for spending over $100 and when I wrote that in the bizrate review they did go ahead and credit it to me which was something I wasn't expecting. I rated them high on customer service for that.
However the gap maternity clothes are really an inferior quality. There were very few styles I liked, but what I ordered was poor quality in design, stitching and especially cloth. The T shirt cloth is super thin and see through in all areas except where the material is folded or layered giving it an uneven appearance of normal quality cloth around certain areas and see through flimsy cloth in others. The material is very soft but the look just isn't how it appeared online. www.motherhood.com - motherhood maternity - sent clothes that were wonderful - great quality in design, stitching and cloth - a lot of effort was put into those clothes and the price was generally 1/3 to 1/2 off of gap prices - I won't be spending more money for a poorer product again at gap. |

Gap has clothing for men, women, kids and babies. As a woman, I do not like their style, so I didn't think I'd shop with them, but now I have a baby, when she needed a swimsuit last summer, I checked every baby clothing online stores I could think of.

I have been trying to special order some jeans off of the Gap website for 2 weeks now. The website has apparently been shut down for several weeks this summer while they are constructing a new site. This is very inconvenient and seemingly unnecessary. I don't understand why they couldn't create a new website without shutting down the old one.
I went into the Gap store and they said- even they couldn't special order anything, because they order off the same site that the public does. It sounds really weird to me that they can not order something either. The folks in the store told me that the website was supposed to be up last week. And of course it is not. I wonder how many customers the Gap has lost to competitors while their website has been down this summer. I haven't had this kind of problem with the Gap website before, but it is really taking them a long time to fix their website. For such a large company, I'm surprised. |

I do like Gap - its one of my favorite places to shop - I love their clothes. But, beyond that I have found their customer service (in-store, on the phone and over the Internet) to be truly exceptional - it always surprises me. They will do everything they can to help resolve your issue. Once I wanted a shirt online, but when I went to buy it was sold out - so I called Gap and they found one for me and shipped it out free. And that is just one example of their great service.
Also, if you have a Gap credit card, if you use it they will send you coupons and discounts periodically. |

Finally a place to buy trendy jeans for tall, slim guys. Very few stores sell stylish jeans in 36 length. I was able to not only order the right size for my son, but also found some nice sweaters in his size as well. The delivery was right on time, which was great at the holidays.

Slow, sloppy order handling

Slow, sloppy service! I placed an order from both gap.com and bananarepublic.com. Both orders did not ship until 7 days later, and one item from each was canceled (on day 7!). gap.com notified me, bananarepublic.com did not. I haven't received the BR order yet, but the gap.com order arrived and the packing list was wrong. The total $ included the canceled item (NOT listed though). They also sent an email, but it listed the canceled item, and the correct charge.
Also, gap.com's order status listed my order as shipped the day I ordered it, but two years earlier with an invalid shipment tracking #. bananarepublic.com doesn't even offer order tracking from the website. Sloppy order handling. Both offered 10% off the next purchase for canceling the item. That will barely cover shipping! Don't think I'll try them again. |

I have ordered clothing from gap.com for about two years now. I have always been satisfied with the ease at which I can shop for items on their site and with the manner in which the items are shipped. I also appreciate the fact that I can return items to any of their retail locations.
Recently, I was surprised, when an order came just a little late and the customer service department sent me an apology and gift certificate, even though I didn't complain. It is clear to me that gap.com customer service goes above and beyond to provide the best possible service they can. |

I ordered 6 or 7 items from Gap.com...They were very quick to confirm my order...I also received an e-mail letting me know I could save shipping fees...I was able to track my order easily...Received the order a day before I thought it would get to my house...Since I had ordered several items in different colors and sizes, I knew some items would be going back...I just went to my local store, brought the receipt and the items to return...Store clerks were very friendly, and made the process very easy.

Avoid Gap.com. They are the most inept e-tailer I have ever dealt with. Problem number one was that Gap.com says that orders will be received 8-12 days after ordering. This is longer than the normal 5-7 days Ive encountered on other web sites.
